Notes: This was written in response to a challenge issued on the Kohri ML. The challenge consisted of putting the following aspects into a story: a 17th century setting, a Christmas party, a rotten banana, and a tear-shaped sapphire. The historical setting suckered me in; I'm such a wimp when it comes to resisting history! And you would think that by looking at that challenge, the story would be a humourous one. Well, trust me to turn it into an angsty, serious one. ^_^
